Mosa and Mommy - The Amazing Adventures

My son, Mosa, was born on October 12, 2012 at 9:24 AM.

He statistics: 2900 grams and 49.5 cm in length. This is my first time being a parent. I shall attempt to document all the details of my experience and hope that it proves to be useful for others.

My objective as a parent is to give Mosa an awesome childhood filled with love, adventures and stories where we observe the world and perform lots of scientific experiments together in order to discover magnificent things about this world.

In order to accomplish this, I've set up a tentative plan to show the general idea of how things will flow.

Mosa and Mommy - The Amazing Adventures

Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Mommy is undergoing training as an explorer but shall return home to join Mosa, the super explorer, at 6 p.m.

My intention is to wake up at 6 a.m. and feed Mosa. I will be at the office at 7 in the morning and stay until 5:30 p.m. During this time, I will have to figure out how to be as productive as possible so I can return home with a clear mind, ready to spend 100% of my time with Mosa.

I believe in the value of focusing 100%, the value of living in the moment, of being present.

Monday - Friday: 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Energy Extraction

In this mission, Mosa and mommy eats together in order to store power and energy for what's coming.

I want to build the habit of eating dinner together every single day. Based on studies, sitting down to eat dinner together has many positive consequences. Besides the positive effects, I want to spend as much time as I can with Mosa. I want to watch him grow, see how he develops into a confident and independent individual.

● Blast Off

In this mission, Mosa will gear up for the adventure ahead by consulting the rocket and spaceship instruction manual or by learning about past explorers. He will also get his crew ready. The crew consists of Mommy and other people who reside with Mosa.

After eating, I think it's a good idea to give his stomach time to digest. During this phase of our mission, I'll have Mosa select any books from his library. Initially, I'll read to him. As he progresses, we'll read together. Eventually, he'll read and I'll follow along.

● The Amazing Adventure

The goal of our mission is found on our daily Play Plan. Each Play Plan has an objective, list of equipments and instructions.

Each weekend, I'll draft up seven Play Plans for Mosa. The purpose of each Play Plan is to discover things through play. There are really no rules, just some general guidelines on how to proceed. The level of difficulty and area of interests will be directed by Mosa's responses. For example, a Play Plan might look like the following:

Mission: Build a castle to protect your crew from floods.
Instructions: Your tools consists of your favorite blanket and things that you can find and carry in the house. Mommy and Mosa will work together to build the castle.

● Sanitation

Mosa and Mommy sanitize themselves from any unfriendly and harmful foreign invaders.

Time to shower but we must make shower as cool as possible. Fighting foreign invaders is better than showering.

● Hibernation

In this mission, explorers will take time to reflect on their mission.

Before Mosa is able to write: Mosa will choose a book and Mommy will read to him. Once he becomes an independent reader, Mosa and Mommy will read together.

When Mosa can write: Mosa will write a little summary in the Conclusion of the Play Plan. If he's not tired yet, Mosa and Mommy will read together.

There you have it, my tentative plan. On the weekends our adventures are more detailed and extensive but follows the same format.
